Questions

  2. What didn't, and why?
  3. What did I learn?
  4. What am I grateful for?
  5. What are my top three for next week?

Week of 28 September

  • Went well: shipped the pricing page; two early nights.
  • Didn't: no deep work on Thursday, too many meetings.
  • Learned: a 30-minute agenda beats a 60-minute meeting.
  • Grateful for: dinner with my sister.
  • Block Thursday mornings for deep work
  • Send the Q4 plan to Jonas
  • Book the dentist

The note after a few days of talking to your AI. Tinted lines are what it added, the way Amber Notes shows an AI's changes, with Undo and the earlier version kept in the note's history.

What the prompt does

Your AI creates a note called “Weekly review” in your Notes folder, or finds the one you already have, and learns how to keep it. Twenty minutes on Sunday. Your AI asks the questions, and the answers land here, newest week first.

Paste it once into a chat in ChatGPT or Claude with Amber Notes turned on, or into Claude Code.

Then just talk to it

  • It's time for my weekly review.
  • What did I say I'd focus on last week?
  • What keeps coming up in my reviews?
Show the full prompt

First, look for a note called "Weekly review" in my Amber Notes with search_notes. If there isn't one, create it with create_note in the folder "Notes", using exactly the markdown at the end of this message, the <!-- pane-table --> line included (it gives the table's columns their types). Then: Use my Amber Notes note "Weekly review". When I say it's time for my weekly review, ask me the questions under "Questions" one at a time. Then add the week at the start of "Reviews" with append_to_note (at_start): a "### Week of" heading with Monday's date, my answers as short bullets in my own words, and my top three as a checklist. When I tell you one is done, tick it with set_checklist_item.

The note you start with

This is what the prompt creates in Amber Notes: an ordinary note with the headings ready. Your AI fills it in from there, and you can still edit every line yourself.
